Flagships AD 2020 threaten with a high price
I think each of us thinks prices of this year’s flagship are not lowto say the least.
Even Xiaomi could not resist it, which is why POCO F2 Pro costs from 2499 PLN, a for Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro we have to pay over 4000 PLN. It’s a lot, although you have to honestly admit that the latter is best equipped smartphone in the brand’s history.
Unfortunately, new news indicates that next year it may be even worse and not only in the case of Xiaomi. Much responsibility for this situation is to (again) fall on … Qualcomm.

Xiaomi ordered Snapdragon 875. The price is cosmic!
Chinese and Korean sources have reported that Xiaomi has already placed an order for the Snapdragon 875 processorwhich will drive next year’s flagships from many different manufacturers. The price per unit is to be as much as $ 250, which gives us less than 1000 zlotys!
This price is to apply not only to the mobile platform itself, but also modemu 5G Snapdragon X60 i all needed antennas and additional components.
To realize how expensive the Snapdragon 875 will be, you need to look at the price of its predecessor. It is said that this year Xiaomi paid Qualcomm about $ 150 a piece for a similar package. The increase is therefore significant (+ 66%), and yet Snapdragon 865 is considered definitely expensive.
Of course, there is the possibility that each manufacturer negotiates the rate for processors with Qualcomm and Xiaomi agreed to an exorbitant amount, but in my opinion it is very unlikely. After all, until recently, Xiaomi was one of the few to pack top American units for inexpensive flagships, so the Chinese must have good business dealings with them.
If the price of the processor that lands in most flagships for 2021 is confirmed, then I’m afraid to think how expensive next year’s flagships will be. Tysiak for the central unit itself suggests that it will be difficult to find a smartphone with SD875 for less than 3000 PLN at the start, unless the savings in other aspects reach absurdity.

It is worth noting that in top models of the next generation it will be in SoC, which costs as much as a really good mid-range smartphone!
