Events are rolling over: After it was said that Arda Güler had broken off his club’s trip to the USA to be treated in Spain for a knee injury, it is now said that he could be out for up to five months. In addition, Real Madrid would have the opportunity to put the license for the young Turk’s contract on hold until January.
It was revealed that Arda Güler was injured at Real Madrid; The 18-year-old initially joined the team with knee problems, but he was still taken on the “Royal” trip to the USA. In the States, the young Turk was supposed to make his debut for his new employer, but that never happened. The complaints, initially classified as “muscular problems”, soon turned out to be damage to the medial meniscus in the right knee. In order to have this injury treated, Arda broke off the trip to the USA and made his way back to Spain. However, it is now said that the attacking player could be out for up to five months and that Real are considering not licensing the player until the winter transfer window.
Arda Güler will be out at least until November
As “Mundo Deportivo” reports, Arda Güler has two options because of his injury: On the one hand, he could do without an operation and have his meniscus injury treated conservatively, which would mean that he would be back in three months at the earliest, but that too risk that the medial meniscus would become a recurring problem or decide to have surgery. A surgical procedure would even make Arda unable to play for up to five months, but would reduce the risk of subsequent injuries. At least, that’s usually the case with older players. Since Arda is only 18 years old, he is still growing, which is why some doctors advise against meniscus surgery at this age. In the case of an operation, Arda would not be ready for use until January.
Real Madrid are considering not licensing Arda Güler for the time being
The injury situation of the young Turk who joined Real Madrid from Fenerbahçe this summer for €20+10m, causes gray hair in the Spanish capital club. Since Arda would be out for at least three months anyway, the club management is said to be considering putting the license in the Spanish league and thus its eligibility to play on hold for the time being. If Güler were to be officially licensed, this would mean that his salary would also play into Real’s salary cap, which would also mean that the “royal” would find it more difficult to sign and license new players.
Should Arda really go under the knife, he would be out until January anyway, which is why the suspension of licensing until winter would not make any difference for the 18-year-old – he would still collect his salary, but would not be eligible to play during this time. Currently, however, the “Blancos” are allegedly considering going so far that, even if Arda were to be treated conservatively and would be operational again in November, they would not register with the Spanish league until the winter in order to open up larger options on the transfer market hold. Either way, this is definitely not the dream start the Turkish star was hoping for at Real Madrid.
