ARAD. Three days after the passing to the eternal ones of Father Dorin-Alexandru Cicirean from the Arad-Ceala Parish, another priest from Arad was killed by COVID. It is about Ciprian-Cornel Ilica, priest in Sintea Mică Parish, Arad Archdiocese. He died on Monday evening, October 25, following a cardio-respiratory arrest. Sick of COVID-19, Father Ciprian Ilica had been hospitalized at the Arad County Emergency Clinical Hospital for about two weeks, being intubated in the last week. Unfortunately, his condition deteriorated overnight and he could not be saved. He was 43 years old.
The lifeless body of Father Ciprian-Cornel Ilica will be deposited in the Church dedicated to “Pious Parascheva” from Sintea Mică.

His Beatitude Father Ciprian-Cornel Ilica was born on March 11, 1978, in Ineu. After graduating from the Arad Forestry High School, he attended the courses of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology “Ilarion V. Felea” in Arad and the Master’s in the same institution. He was ordained a priest by His Eminence Timotei, Archbishop of Arad, on June 4, 2004, on behalf of Sintea Mică Parish, where he served until his death. On 5 August 2007 he received the distinction of iconom.

We remind you that the death of Father Ciprian-Cornel Ilica from Sintea Mică Parish is the fourth COVID death registered among the Arad clergy. On October 22, 2021, at the age of 62, Father Dorin-Alexandru Cicirean from the Arad-Ceala Parish passed away. Father Butar Pascu, parish priest in Monorestia, died on April 18, 2021, at the age of 62. The first priest from Arad who was killed by COVID was Father Ioan Iercoșan from Aldeşti; he was 66 years old when he died on December 13, 2020, on the hospital bed.
