ABU DHABI, 28th September, 2018 (WAM) – The organizing committee of the Abu Dhabi Extreme Championship (ADXC), whose first edition will kick off next October 20th at the Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi, announced the holding of an upcoming Arab fight bringing together Palestinian mixed martial arts champion Abdul Karim Al-Selwadi. And the Egyptian Islam Nader Reda, in the middleweight competition, joining the two Arab champions, the Palestinian Bilal Muhammad, and the Syrian Tariq Suleiman, whose participation was previously announced.
The Abu Dhabi Extreme Championship competitions bring together the sports of grappling and jiu-jitsu inside a cage and without a suit. Participants in the tournament also have the opportunity to compete over the course of two years on different continents of the world through several specialized rounds for this exciting type of mixed martial arts, with the best being crowned with the championship belt. The brilliance of the Palestinian Abdul Karim Al-Salwadi, who lives in the United States of America, in martial arts sports came after he was crowned a world champion in 2018, with successive achievements, and he achieved many titles in many international events.
As for the Egyptian Islam Nader Reda, he achieved many victories in international martial arts fights, most notably the “Emirates Warriors” tournament.
Abdul Karim Al-Selwadi expressed his aspiration to participate in the “Abu Dhabi Extreme” tournament, stressing that it will be one of the most important fights in his career, while Islam Nader Reda announced his readiness to participate in the first edition in which he aspires to achieve a new achievement, especially since it is the first start of the tournament.
On another level, the organizing committee announced the selection of UAE jiu-jitsu champion Zayed Al Kathiri, 23 years old, to represent the UAE in the inaugural edition of the tournament, where he will meet Brazilian Soares in the lightweight challenge bout.
Al Kathiri will be the first Emirati to participate in this tournament, as he has a long record of achievements in the sport of Jiu-Jitsu, including winning a historic gold medal in the last edition of the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship, in the 56 kg weight category.
Al Kathiri confirmed that he is making extensive preparations to participate in the first fight and appear in his best form.
The organizing committee had previously announced the identification of the two international fighters for the main fight in the tournament, namely Henderson and Neiman Gracie.
During the first edition of the event, 14 fights will be held, while the competitions are being held in cooperation between the ADXC organization and the Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Professionals Association.
The first edition of the tournament coincides with Abu Dhabi Challenge Week, which witnesses a variety of combat sports events.
