The Kuwaiti team from Kuwait defeated the Egyptian team Al-Ittihad from Alexandria, 74-72, in the final round of the first group competitions of the Arab Basketball Club Championship, hosted by Kuwait.
Kuwait advanced on Alexandria’s Al Ittihad in the first half, 41-40.
In the second half Al-Ittihad advanced 72-71 with 50 seconds left in the match, but Kuwait managed to win in the final seconds thanks to free throws.
Kuwait leads the ranking of the first round, where they will play against the Yemeni port in the final standings.
Interestingly, the Egyptian Al-Ahly won the title of the last edition of the tournament by beating Kuwait in the final, 78-66.
