Arab Celebrities Take Sides in Gaza Conflict: Mohamed Ramadan’s Call for Arab Armies Echoes, Mohamed Salah Breaks Silence

Screams from Mohamed Ramadan to the Arab countries, demanding the use of their armies and weapons in light of the current events between Israel and Gaza, and Mohamed Salah breaks his silence about the conflict after 11 days.

Between supporters, opponents, and silence… Talk about the Gaza war went beyond the boundaries of the world of celebrities. Many Arab and foreign celebrities expressed their positions and whether they supported the Palestinian cause, Israel, or were neutral.

The latest supporters of Palestine were Egyptian artists such as Amr Diab, Mohamed Salah, and Mohamed Ramadan, as Diab postponed his concert, which was to be held in Dubai on Friday, in solidarity with the events.

As for the Egyptian Liverpool player Salah, he published a video clip in which he denounced the killing of children, while the artist Ramadan caused a sensation on social networking sites because of his excitement in a video he published talking about the weapons of the Arab countries and asking them about the position of their armies regarding the events in Gaza.

Professional influence

Internationally, the American model of Palestinian origins, Gigi Hadid, and the Lebanese actress, Mia Khalifa, did not remain silent about the Palestinian issue, even if this position represented a risk to their work. Khalifa described the Palestinians as “freedom fighters,” which led to Playboy magazine terminating their contract. with her.

But she was not the only one who was harmed professionally and financially, as the founder of Huda Beauty, the Iraqi Huda Kattan, was subjected to threats to boycott her products after her public support for the cause.

An Israeli follower commented on Qattan’s post, saying: “I don’t know if you noticed that Israelis from all over the world love you and your products, and despite all their money, you chose Gaza, so remember that when the Israelis start boycotting your products all over the world.”

Kattan’s response was: “I don’t want money stained with blood.”

More than 9,000 people also signed an online petition demanding that Sephora stores in the United States remove Kattan’s products due to its political stance.

Support for Israel

On the other hand, celebrities who support Israel appeared, including the American singer Usher and actor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Some of them fell into the trap of misinformation, including Justin Bieber, who posted a picture of destroyed buildings in Gaza with the title “Praying for Israel.”

Likewise, American actress Jamie Lee Curtis posted a picture of terrified children and added the Israeli flag to the post, declaring her support for them.

Lee Curtis deleted the post after she realized that the photo was of Palestinian children in Gaza and not in Israel.

Celebrities are a small segment of society with great influence, but for every political or humanitarian stance they declare, they pay a heavy price for it.
