With the landscape of Lake Ilopango and the reinforcement of an Argentine goalkeeper, the Apulo team held a training session this afternoon as part of their preparation for the start of the Beach Soccer League (LFP) CEL Cup 2024, in which They will face San Marcelino on Saturday, April 6, and Costa del Sol, on Sunday, April 7, during the first day.
Claw and agility are some of the characteristics that define the work in the sand of Apulo’s team. For this edition, they will have the reinforcement of the Argentine Fermín Carranza, who will defend the goal of the Lagunero team.
“In my country we greatly admire the level of beach soccer in El Salvador because of its selection, that is why I wanted to come and participate in the league because I know that the teams are very good, I am sure that I will learn a lot and I also hope to contribute a little what I know,” commented the goalkeeper from the Argentine team Ferrocarril.
In the fourth edition of the LFP, several teams will be reinforced with foreigners, such is the case of the UES, which will have the Americans Cody Valcárcel and Vivian Oray; Garita Palmera hired the services of Mathew Citron, from the United States, and Beatriz Corado, from Guatemala; while Barra de Santiago, in women, will have the Venezuelan Jennifer Ramírez.
“As Apulo coach I am proud to see that more foreigners join the league every year. That’s because they know that Salvadoran beach soccer is of a very good level and that makes them want to join our league, something that benefits us because we learn from them,” commented strategist Freddy Moreno.
Gabriel Reyes, center of the Lagunero team, took the opportunity to comment on his expectations in this new edition of the LFP and assured that reaching the final to lift the champion trophy is the main objective.
“I feel very happy to participate in the CEL Cup for the fourth consecutive year, where we came in second and third place. This year we will work harder so that, First God, we can be the monarchs of the league,” said Reyes.
