women’s doubles badminton Indonesia Apriyani Rahayu/ Putri Syaikah managed to bring Indonesia 3-0 up over France in the continuation Uber Cup 2021 in Group A after winning 21-13, 21-10 over the Margot Lambert / Anne Tran pair on the Ceres Arena 1 field, Aarhus, Denmark, Monday (11/10) afternoon WIB.
In this third party, Indonesia fielded a different pair of women’s doubles. Greysia Polii who used to pair up with Apriyani Rahayu was rested and her role was replaced by Putri Syaikah.
In this match, the Indonesian pair faced stiff resistance from the French women’s doubles, which forced them to play long rallies.
However, Apriyani/Putri were able to immediately lead 2-0 over the French pair at the beginning of the first game.
Apriyani/Putri appeared calmer after entering the sixth point. This Indonesian pair began to take control of the game.
Interestingly, because of the enthusiasm of the Indonesian women’s doubles, the strings of the racket were broken twice, namely Apriyani once and Putri once.
Apriyani/Putri managed to lead in the first game interval over the French pair with a score of 11-9.
After the first game interval, Apriyani/Putri are still able to lead by a distance of four points, namely 15-11 and then lead 17-13.
Apriyani/Putri finally managed to close the first game with a 21-13 victory over Lambert/Tran.
In the second game, Apriyani/Putri had a five-point lead over Lambert/Tran with a score of 7-2.
Putri had made two mistakes in a row which made France able to reduce the gap to 5-8.
However, Apriyani’s hard smash managed to make Indonesia again widen the advantage to 9-5.
Apriyani/Putri finally managed to close the second game interval with an 11-7 advantage.
The Indonesian pair continued to appear dominant after the second game interval. Apriyani/Putri finally managed to beat Lambert/Tran with a score of 21-10. Indonesia’s 3-0 victory over France made the Red and White Team certain to qualify for the 2021 Uber Cup quarter-finals.
