Every year on April 23, followers of Freud, Jung and Carnegie – Ukrainian psychologists – celebrate their professional holiday. The All-Ukrainian Day of the Psychologist began to be celebrated in 2004. And in this, our specialists were ahead of their colleagues from other countries, which cannot boast of an official day in the calendar. Even the world psychological community does not have this.
Psychologist’s Day is a holiday for young people. And the profession itself is only a hundred years old. But psychologists are widely in demand in society: they work in the field of education, medicine, and advertising. Crisis psychologists rush to help with every disaster, medical psychologists help people in personal distress, hundreds of specialists in our country take care of displaced persons and military personnel.
On this day, we express our gratitude to psychologists for their tireless work to preserve the mental health of Ukrainians. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, these specialists, not sparing themselves, provided emergency psychological assistance to those in need almost 24 hours a day online and offline, working with everyone – adults, children, military personnel, forced migrants.
Currently, psychologists are actively working with Defenders who are undergoing treatment and rehabilitation, as well as directly with those who defend our Ukraine in the hottest points of the front.
Today, society understands that issues of psychological well-being, the ability to overcome stress, to calm down and control oneself in time are key both in peaceful life and during a state of war. We now all realize that psychologists are the profession of the future and their successful activity is a guarantee of post-war rehabilitation, peaceful future and mental health of the nation.
We wish all Ukrainian psychologists good health, strength and inexhaustible energy. Your contribution to the formation of a healthy and happy social psychology is extremely important.
In particular, we would like to congratulate all teachers and students of the department of psychology and pedagogy of the faculty of health, psychology, physical culture and sports of our university. Your work plays an important role in shaping our future specialists and preparing them to solve complex tasks of practical psychology.
