Approved the acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft

Great news for gamers who are waiting for Microsoft to approve the purchase of Activision Blizzard, as according to new information the purchase has been approved in Chile.

Known as “FNE” in the country, have approved the purchase of the owner of Call of Duty by Microsoft still in Phase 1 after ruling out that it is capable of substantially reducing the competition.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office considered that the transaction was not adequate to substantially reduce competition considering, among other things, the patterns and preferences of video game consumers in Chile.

“It was felt that the number of consumers who would prefer to switch consoles when faced with a lock-down strategy would also be lower, as verified through a survey conducted with Chilean consumers, and that the significant revenues generated by PlayStation in favor of ABK would discourage the adoption of a blocking strategy”.

Now Chile is another country that has approved Microsoft’s purchase of Activision Blizzard. It is worth mentioning that Brazil, Saudi Arabia and Serbia have also already approved the purchase.

Now it remains to wait for the other regulators.
