Approaches to improve the taxi service in Cádiz
The councilor delegate for Mobility of Cádiz, Martín Vila, has met with the representatives of the city’s taxi associations, Radio Taxi and Gades Taxi, to advance in a framework agreement for institutional collaboration, of a multi-year nature, in order to favor the autotaxi service in Cádiz.
Thus, during the meeting, progress was made on points that were already addressed in previous meetings between the Cádiz City Council and these entities.
This framework agreement will allow for concrete measures in the future that are historical demands of the sector.
Among them, the drafting of a Master Plan for the Taxi Service in the city; in order to analyze the situation of the sector in order to obtain accurate information on the reality of the autotaxi service In said Master Plan, the possibility of rescuing licenses for their amortization will be studied if the analysis of supply and demand is so required.
In addition, this framework agreement will facilitate specific initiatives or projects, as well as possible financial aid to the autotaxi sector to face the hygienic-sanitary measures derived from the pandemic caused by Covid-19.
It also includes the intention of creating a bonotaxi to facilitate transport in the city for people with reduced mobility in situations of social vulnerability.
Obligations
Likewise, the Radio Taxi association undertakes to include the following obligations in its work strategy:
- Corporate Social Responsibility, to reintegrate into society the collaboration received through collaboration with different entities and social organizations; such as those whose purpose is to work with vulnerable groups or in a situation of exclusion, among others.
- Gender Equality and Non-discrimination Policy; by promoting gender equality in all senses, including in all its actions and communications.
- Environmental policy, betting on respect and care for the environment; as well as promoting the transition to a hybrid or electric technology in autotaxi vehicles. And also avoiding actions that may cause contamination of any kind; promoting the use of renewable energies, promoting recycling practices both in its integral actions and among its associates.
