Thiruvananthapuram∙ Mridulakumari, lay secretary of SAT Hospital, was suspended. Emergency action has been triggered on complaints that seven people who are close relatives have been named. Mridulakumari was found to have committed serious financial irregularities and destroyed transaction records.
The Department of Health had launched an investigation into the related appointments at the SAT hospital. Minister Veena George requested a report on the employee’s complaint. The Director of Health Education is investigating.
It was further alleged that these appointments were made with the knowledge of the CPM district leadership. There is also an allegation over the role of the accused area committee member in relation to the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation nomination controversy.
