Appoint Alexandra to be Deputy Director of Bank Mandiri, this is the reason for Erick Thohir

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Minister of State Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir said the appointment of Alexandra W Askandar as Deputy director Main Bank Independent is a form of effort to increase the role of women in the ranks of state-owned company officials.

Before being appointed as a representative director main, Alexandra is a Corporate Director Mandiri Bank.

Alexandra’s appointment as vice director at Bank Mandiri is part of our efforts to continue to increase the percentage of women, up to 15 percent in senior management in BUMN. Previously, we also appointed Adi Sulityowati as Deputy President Director of BNI, “said Erick in a written statement, Wednesday (21/10/2020).

Alexandra himself took the position vice director Bank Mandiri replaced the position left by Hery Gunardi.

She is a woman born in 1972 who graduated from the University of Indonesia and Boston University, United States. Alexandra’s banking career history is as Group Head of Corporate Banking in 2015 and Senior Executive Vice President in 2016 at Bank Mandiri.

In addition, Erick continued, he also appointed Sigit Prastowo to be the Finance Director of Bank Mandiri. Previously, Sigit was Director of Finance at PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk.

Sigit Prastowo was born in Cilacap on December 1, 1971, so far he has been known as a banker who has always held positions in the finance department of BNI. Even since 2005, graduates of the Masters in Management from Gadjah Mada University have always been engaged in national banking finance.

“Meanwhile, for Sigit Prastowo, we also give him the opportunity, who has been pursuing a career at BNI, to become a director at Bank Mandiri as part of his tour of duty. I hope that all BUMNs develop their human resources so that more and more BUMN companies become center of excellence,” he said.

Previously, Darmawan Junaidi was officially appointed as President Director of Bank Mandiri. The decision was taken after Bank Mandiri held an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) today, Wednesday (21/10/2020).

Prior to serving as number one person at Bank Mandiri, Darmawan was the Director of Treasury, International Banking and Special Asset Management.

He was appointed as Managing Director of Bank Mandiri to replace Royke Tumilaar who was transferred by Minister of BUMN Erick Thohir to become President Director of Bank BNI.
