Appoint 6 U-20 World Cup Stadium, PSSI ‘Kangkangi’ Kemenpora

VIVAPSSI It has officially appointed six stadiums to host the 2021 U-20 World Cup. However, the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) as an institution that is above the Indonesian sports federation feels displaced.

The Secretary of Menpora, Gatot S Dewa Broto said that until now PSSI had not talked about it. They even held a press conference to the mass media.

“This needs to be straightened out, don’t lie. To be honest, so far we haven’t received any reports from PSSI,” Gatot told reporters on Sunday, June 28, 2020.

PSSI ensured that Bung Karno Main Stadium, Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Jakabaring Stadium, Manahan Stadium, Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, and Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium would be the hosts. After that they just wait for the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing to renovate.

Si Jalak Harupat Stadium and Jakabaring Stadium are replacements. Because in the initial proposal, PSSI submitted to FIFA was the Pakansari Stadium and the Mandala Krida Stadium.

Which then made Gatot disappointed, PSSI did not establish any communication with the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Even though the managers are just open if they want to contact him.

“What’s so hard, right now there are electronic media like WhatsApp, they also have my number, what’s the difficulty of contacting,” said Gatot.

Gatot revealed Kemenpora and PSSI held a meeting two days ago. But, there was no mention of the appointment of the host of the U-20 World Cup.
