JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – This year the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the Regulatory Body Toll road (BPJT) will soon conduct a trial implementation transaction cashless contactless on multiple levers toll road.
Transaction implementation multi lane free flow (MLFF) this will also replace payment with an electronic money card or often called e-Toll. However, this will only be done when it is fully implemented in 2024.
Head of BPJT Danang Parikesit said the existence of the MLFF or contactless transaction service made toll road users no longer need to queue at the airport. toll gates to do tapping.
Thus, automatically when full implementation has been carried out in 2024, the use of toll card no longer needed.

“Communities that use toll roads no longer find gate at toll gates, gradually toll gates will also be abolished. We will start the trial process this year, and it will be fully implemented in 2024,” said Danang, quoted from KompasTVFriday (20/5/2022).
Technically, MLFF payments are considered to be more practical and prevent overcrowding, especially at toll gates. The system will detect and withdraw payments from passing vehicles.
The payment process will use Global Navigation Satelit System (GNSS) and special applications on smartphone which will be prepared for each toll road user.

As a toll card replacement device, will use Electronic On-Board Unit or (E-OBU), and Electronic Route Ticket where the user can select entry and exit points according to single-use travel routes.
Thus, it is claimed to be able to eliminate the queue time to zero seconds. When compared to the use of electronic money (e-Toll), there is a maximum transaction time reduction of 5 seconds.
According to Danang, the process of implementing the contactless cashless toll payment system will be carried out in stages by adjusting the ability to adapt to the technology used.

“For the initial stage of implementation, it begins with a transition period on several toll roads, where some of the substations at each toll gate can still use electronic toll cards,” said Danang.
