KIM wrote in its statement sent to MTI on Wednesday: if the amendments are accepted by the Parliament, then fewer documents will have to be submitted in some family support procedures than before, in addition, the mandatory proof of student status will no longer be required, so parents, with a few exceptions, will not have to obtain a certificate to that effect.
They emphasized that since 2010, the government’s priority goal has been to support childbearing and child rearing, to strengthen families, for which it has created and operates a broad and stable family support system. Today, more than 30 measures are available for families that provide tangible help in everyday life. The way they are used is reviewed by the government every year in order to ensure that Hungarian families can use them with even fewer administrative obligations than before.
According to the information, according to the current amendment proposals, among other things
the mandatory verification of the pupil/student status is no longer required.
Apart from a few exceptional cases, from September 1, 2023, proof of student status cannot be requested from the parent or the student during the period of compulsory schooling, until the end of the school year in which the student turns sixteen. After the end of compulsory education, the student can prove his/her legal relationship as a student with a valid student card until the end of the legal relationship as a student in higher education, the ministry explained.
