Prospective students can now apply to the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences for the 2022/23 winter semester. The application deadline for the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs with restricted admission is July 15th, for the open-admission degree programs you have until September 15th to apply. In total, the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences is offering almost 90 bachelor’s courses and around 30 master’s courses in ten departments for the coming winter semester. The winter semester officially begins on September 1st, lectures start on September 19th, 2022.

The majority of the bachelor’s degree programs for which you can apply now have no admission requirements. This applies in particular to technical courses such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and industrial engineering. Almost all dual courses of study are also free of admission – for this you need the training contract with the company – as well as the majority of part-time courses.

The admission-restricted degree programs come primarily from the social sciences and economics departments. There are individual aptitude tests for the courses in communication design, product and object design and design engineering (textile and clothing technology).

“But the NCs shouldn’t scare anyone off,” explains Kirsten Möller-Mevissen, head of the central student advisory service at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences. “These were put in place to avoid courses becoming overcrowded. They are usually between 2.0 and 3.0.”

The application takes place online. No documents are required for an online application. An important entry in the application mask is the final average grade of the technical college entrance qualification or the Abitur. The study places will be allocated after July 15, either directly by the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences or via Hochschulstart, a central allocation office in Germany. For which degree programs the application is made via Hochschulstart, along with numerous other information, is available on the homepage: https://www.hs-niederrhein.de/studienangebot/

HSNR navigator for the undecided

Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences has developed its own self-assessment tool for those who are still undecided. In the so-called HSNR Navigator, prospective students can use their inclinations to test which course of study at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences is suitable for them.

Divided into different topic chapters, users can find out details about course content, course structure and career prospects in the individual disciplines. In addition, there is the opportunity to try out study-related tasks and case studies. If done carefully, it takes about an hour to run through. The HSNR Navigator can be found at: navigator.hs-niederrhein.de
