Application counter for health care bonuses remains open a week longer

The institutions that have to submit the application found the hassle too great to apply for the bonus for the self-employed and externally hired employees. “Those messages have also reached me. That is not the intention”, said Van Ark. “We can now say that those signals are quite extensive.”

The counter would close tomorrow night

Van Ark calls on employers to also submit applications for self-employed persons and the self-employed. “That is the explicit intention of this scheme. I therefore want to extend the opening of the counter by a week.” Initially, the counter would close at 11:59 pm tomorrow evening.

One of the victims was Feliza (27). As a carer, she works in a closed ward for people with dementia. “There have been a number of infections in the ward,” she says.

‘Administrative burden’

When the healthcare bonus scheme was announced, she assumed she could receive the bonus. But that turned out not to be the case. “The institution I worked for indicated that because of the administrative burden they were not going to apply for the care bonus for externally hired staff, so not for me either.” Feliza’s colleagues who are employed will receive the bonus.
