Apple has issued a warning to smartphone addicts about charging devices while sleeping, as they should be careful and follow some guidelines to ensure safety. According to the guide on Apple’s website, it’s recommended that iPhones be charged only in well-ventilated areas, such as a flat tabletop, and should be avoided on surfaces such as thick covers.
Smartphones heat up during the charging process, and if there is not enough room for heat to dissipate, burns or even fires may occur. Therefore, it is best not to place the phone under a pillow or any other unsuitable surface during the charging process.
Please note that Apple did not explicitly recommend not charging the phone overnight, but stresses the importance of keeping the phone and power adapter in well-ventilated areas while charging. However, there are some fire services that advise against longitudinal charging between day and night.
In addition to safety, another reason has to do with battery life. When the phone is connected for a long time while sleeping, it works for long hours, which increases the temperature of the battery and ultimately reduces its lifespan. This means that you may eventually have to replace the battery or buy a new phone.
Therefore, it is best to follow Apple’s instructions and make sure to provide a well-ventilated area for the phone while charging, and avoid placing it under a pillow or any surface that prevents heat dissipation properly.
