Just last month, Apple introduced the Mac Studio with the M2 Max and M2 Ultra chips and the 15.3-inch MacBook Air with the M2 processor. And in the fall, other new Macs are expected, but with the M3 processor.
What to expect
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the iPhone 15 smartphones and Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra smartwatches will be presented in September, and Apple will show new Macs in October. It will likely be an updated iMac, a 13-inch MacBook Air, and a MacBook Pro with M3 chips.
But it is still unknown whether this will be a full-fledged event or Apple will limit itself to issuing press releases describing new models. The decision to hold an official event, most likely, has not yet been made.
As for the M3 processor, it is expected to have the same number of cores as the M2, but with increased performance and efficiency due to the transition to a new 3nm manufacturing process.
