Among the rumors or leaks circulating regarding the emergence of a new generation of iPhone, one of these changes in connectivity might be a big thing for iPhone users.
Some might think that it’s time for Apple to replace the lightning port or cable with USB-C. In fact, Apple has long been planning to move its most popular hardware to USB-C (check out the ports on the best Macbooks and iPads).
Some suspect Apple will still stick with Lightning ports for its latest iPhones, but Apple has been quick to make a decision in the face of new EU regulations.

New EU regulations on port standards are forcing companies and it’s unlikely Apple will produce iPhone 15 devices with Lightning ports in the US and USB-C-enabled models in the EU.
This doesn’t mean Apple will take a half-assed approach to this transition. Apple and its CEO Tim Cook are expected to present this change as their idea, without mentioning EU regulations.
