Apple has changed the design of this year’s iPhone Pro
This makes replacing the back significantly cheaper
Compared to the previous generation, it costs 10 thousand crowns less
In recent years, it has become a rule for Apple to release four new iPhones at the end of the summer – two basic and two “Pro” models. In the more expensive pair, the company from Cupertino deploys the latest technologies, which only make it to the basic models in later generations. Last year, however, Apple first tested one new feature on the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus, and it was only this year that it was introduced to the “pros”.
More repairable construction
Last year’s basic iPhones received a more repairable design with removable glass backs, thanks to which they received an unexpectedly high disassembly score of 7 out of 10 from the editors of the iFixit server. easier disassembly. When unveiling this year’s iPhones, Apple paid a lot of attention to the topic of carbon neutrality and sustainability, and easy repairability is one of the pillars of this initiative.
Individual color variants of the iPhone 15 Pro (Max)
Thanks to the design change, repairs to new iPhones are not only easier, but also significantly cheaper – replacing the back of the most expensive models can be more than 10,000 crowns cheaper than in the case of last year’s generation.
basic Plus Pro Pro Max iPhone 13 9,790 crowns – 12,490 crowns 13,990 crowns iPhone 14 4,590 crowns 5,190 crowns 13,990 crowns 15,590 crowns iPhone 15 4,590 crowns 5,190 crowns 4,590 crowns 5,190 crowns
From the official price table, it can be seen that the replacement of the back of the “pro” iPhones costs exactly the same as for the basic models, compared to last generation, the price is a third. Battery replacement costs the same for all iPhones this year as it did last year – Apple continues to charge 2,690 crowns for this procedure.
Removable iPhone 14 back
Paradoxically, battery replacement has become more expensive for the new Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2 watches, Apple will charge $100 (about 2,800 crowns) for it, which is $20 more than for previous generations.
We will encounter a more demountable construction of new devices more and more often, as more and more states are incorporating it into their legislation. California has a Right to Repair Act, a similar regulation has been proposed by the European Commission and is currently awaiting approval by the European Parliament and the Council of the EU.
