Apple plans to replace select iPads soon
Some of them could arrive this month

Will Apple introduce any new products this year, or will we have to make do with September’s iPhones and Apple Watch? Not even recognized informants agree on the answer to this question – some of them claim that we will see the second autumn keynote this month, while others predict the arrival of other Apple toys only at the beginning of next year. Now, another prediction has surfaced that comes from a credible insider at Instant Digital, and it seems to make quite a bit of sense.
New iPads this month
According to a recent leak, we should expect several new products this year, mainly iPads and their accessories. The premiere of the new iPad mini is almost certain – the last sixth generation is two years old, so the time has come to reveal its successor. The tablet will probably keep its current appearance and proportions, the main innovation will probably be the use of the new and more powerful Apple A16 Bionic chipset, which powers this year’s iPhones 15 and 15 Plus.
Instant Digital further claims that the new iPad mini will get an improved front camera and an upgraded display that should not suffer as much from the jelly effect as in the case of the previous generation. Apple was criticized for this phenomenon with the iPad mini 6, but it was not possible to correct the situation in its power – this is a typical property of LCD panels, and the direction of refreshing individual lines is decisive.
Apple probably counted on the previous iPad mini mainly to control in landscape, when the jelly effect was not noticeable, but in height it was quite significant. In the upcoming successor, the display should be mounted in such a way that it takes into account the main orientation in portrait, so the jelly effect will probably occur in wide mode.
Are there more tablets to come?
While the premiere of the new iPad mini is almost certain, a question mark hangs in the air over other Apple tablets. Instant Digital claims that, in theory, the unveiling of a new generation of the basic iPad and an upgraded iPad Air is also possible. In both cases, we should wait for the deployment of new chipsets, with Air there is even speculation about two different sizes. The informant also mentions a revised Apple Pencil stylus of the first generation, which should be equipped with a USB-C connector – thanks to which the need to own an adapter would finally be removed to charge it.

With a high probability, we cannot yet count on new iPad Pros – in their case, new chipsets of the Apple M3 generation are expected. These will probably arrive in the course of next year, and in addition to iPad Pros, they will also reach basic MacBooks.
According to Instant Digital, the unveiling of the autumn apple news should take place before the end of this month, most likely in the week from October 23 to 27. The sum of the news will probably not be released in a separate keynote, so Apple will most likely reveal it through press releases and an upgrade of its web store.
