Apple’s new AirPods would arrive in May – here’s what we know

According to technology forecaster Jon Prosser of Front Page Tech, the new Apple AirPods are expected to debut alongside the new MacBook Pro next month. But there is some confusion, as TechRadar reported, whether it is the official name of AirPods Pro Lite or a third generation version of the usual AirPods.

If you ask us, we suspect that the AirPods that hit store shelves in May are probably the AirPods Pro Lite – a cheaper alternative to the AirPods Premium. Prosser, who spilled the beans in a tweet, hasn’t fleshed out more predictions about the next AirPods beyond next month’s launch date.

Prosser’s tweet hinted that the new AirPods were about to be revealed in March, but due to coronavirus disruptions, Apple may have opted for a May release. Rumor has it that AirPods Pro Lite is an earlier forecast that we reported in February, unveiled by the Taiwanese technology site Digitimes.

It should also be noted that Prosser is not an unreliable rumor trader – the well-connected YouTuber technology, according to AppleInsider, was aware of recent Apple-related leaks, including the date of the iPhone SE release and d other specifications on the fashionable smartphone.

We’re not sure which eye-catching features the AirPods Pro Lite will strut around, but according to PhoneArena’s predictions, the device won’t have active noise cancellation or Transparency mode – a reflection on the more economical cost of the model . AirPods Pro Lite can include customizable tips, sweat and water resistance, and a wireless charging case.

Given Prosser’s respectable track record of technology leaks, there is a good chance that a new AirPods model will actually become widely available within the next month. We can’t wait to see how well Prosser’s predictions reflect reality as May approaches.
