Apple’s Leaked iPhone 15 Details Reveal Major Transition to USB-C Charging Port

The leaks confirm once again that the upcoming iPhone 15 will be the first phone from Apple to come with a USB-C charging port, a step that the company is taking due to the great pressure it is exposed to, in addition to the great success achieved by this type of connection.

Apple is working on putting the latest frills on the upcoming iPhone 15, which is scheduled to be unveiled next September, and will witness major improvements, foremost of which is the transition to the newest USB-C charging port for the first time.

A report by 9to5Mac, quoting ChargerLab, confirmed that Apple will use the USB-C port where the competitors left off, or in other words, the latest USB-C connection model will be present in the iPhone 15, which carries version No. 4 or what is known as Thunderbolt, which has the highest data transfer speeds.

For more information here, the Thunderbolt connectivity technology was initially developed in collaboration between Apple and Intel, and has already been used in devices from the first company such as the Mac and iPad Pro.

The information comes after the appearance of leaked images of the charging circuit that will be relied upon in the iPhone 15 phones, as it shows in the images 3 types of circuits for different versions of the USB-C connection.

This change brings a lot of benefits to users, especially for professionals who need to quickly transfer ProRes videos to a PC (which currently takes a long time with Lightning ports), and the technology can also improve the power issue, so that users can recharge their phones in less time.

Don’t get too optimistic

What appears in the leaked images are 3 types of charging circuit and USB-C connection as previously mentioned, and this indicates that the Thunderbolt model will not come in all iPhone 15 models.

The pictures show the USB-C 3.1 port as in the iPad Pro, and the second USB-C 2.0, which is the really slow model in data transfer compared to the other, and is the least option that is currently used in devices, as there are no longer first-generation devices in 2022 and 2023.

The point is that the Thunderbolt USB-C port may be available in all iPhone 15 models, but it will most likely only be in the Pro and Pro Max models, and it may also come in the more expensive iPhone 15 Pro Max only.
