Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – China’s HP market is the largest in the world. For this reason, for HP manufacturers, China is a major business determining market.
Recently, Apple released its latest report for iPhone sales. The Cupertino manufacturer posted a 3% year-over-year (YoY) increase. Even so, sales in China fell 3% compared to the previous year.
Regardless, Apple CEO Tim Cook remains grateful and grateful to China. “Thanks to Chinese customers who always support Apple,” he said.
Apple’s overall business performance is still sluggish. iPad and Mac sales are not too ‘sexy’. For example, the iPad dropped 12.76% YoY.
However, the iPhone became the savior of the technology giant founded by Steve Jobs. Revenue from iPhone reached US$ 51,334 billion, up 1.51% YoY.
This achievement was higher than analysts’ predictions, as well as a record high for a quarterly count.
Apple’s fate, which has been helped by iPhone sales, is inversely proportional to other HP vendors. A report by research firm Canalys mentions a decline in the global HP business in Q1 2023 by 13% YiY.
This decline has lasted for 5 consecutive quarters. Among the ranks of the ‘Top 5’, only Apple pocketed growth.
In succession, Samsung, which took first place, fell 18%, Xiaomi in 3rd place fell 22%, Oppo and Vivo in 4th and 5th places fell 8% and 17% respectively.
