Apple is preparing to present a pleasant surprise to photography enthusiasts by introducing a “tremendous” feature that the iPhone 16 Pro Max will have, with a large difference from the advantages of the iPhone 15 Pro Max camera, according to Forbes.
According to a post on an account specialized in technical news leaks known as “Digital Chat Station”, the “iPhone 16 Pro Mask” phone camera will contain three great advantages compared to the latest version of the phone.
And the leaks account of the Chinese “Weibo” website stated that the expected new upgrades include a much larger main camera sensor, improved lens optics and a completely new “super zoom” lens, and it is expected to be much stronger than the new periscope “zoom” lens equipped with the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which will be unveiled next fall.
The iPhone 16 Pro Max will contain an Ultra Telephoto camera (also known as Super Telephoto) and it has a high focal length of 300 mm, and therefore it will greatly outperform the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra telephoto camera, which has a focal length of 230 mm.
The long-distance zoom is a much-needed upgrade to an iPhone camera that lags behind the best Android flagships in this regard.
And while the expected periscope lens for the iPhone 15 Pro Max will go a long way to addressing this issue, the iPhone 16 Pro Max is expected to go even further.
More news
The term “super zoom” is open to interpretation, but it’s usually used to refer to a higher magnification than the 6x periscope zoom expected to arrive on the iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 16 Pro, and this leads to speculation that the larger iPhone 16 Pro Max model will retain a significant advantage over both the standard iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 16 Pro when it comes to long-range zoom.
The use of a larger main camera sensor will greatly increase the amount of light that the camera can capture in one shot, and this is one of the most important factors that determine the overall image quality, and therefore the iPhone should help take clearer pictures, especially in low-light conditions.
It’s hard to pinpoint any potential improvements to the lens, but additional elements usually provide less distortion and clearer images, and larger camera sensors also require larger lenses, which could be another reason to switch to a new optical format.
And if this latest leak is accurate, the iPhone 16 Pro Max camera will outperform other iPhones in more ways than previously expected.
It should be noted that the iPhone 16 Pro Max, which will include these features, will be launched in September of next year.
