Ammon – Apple is working on a software update called iOS 17, which is scheduled to be released in September.
While the end call button can currently be found in the bottom center of the screen, beta testers revealed that this is in the process of changing.
After the update, the End Connection button will be moved to the bottom right of the screen.
While on a call on current iOS 16, users are presented with a red End Call button at the bottom of the screen, while there is a grid of six other options – Mute, Keyboard, Voice, Add Call, FaceTime, and Contacts.
However, Tom’s guide, who has access to the iOS 17 beta, revealed that this design changes. The Contacts button has been removed from the grid, which has been moved to the bottom of the screen. The end call button takes its place, while the remaining five buttons have also undergone modification.
The change must confuse iPhone users, who are used to putting calls on hold by tapping on the bottom center of the screen.
One user wrote on Twitter: “This is terrible and it is unbelievable why it was changed.”
Another tweeted: “Looks like there are a lot of unintentional disconnects.”
It is noteworthy that the change will not become available until the iOS 17 update, which is expected to take place in September with the launch of the “iPhone 15”.
Autocorrect will also be improved, and the keyboard will be used as a model transformer to better predict what you type next. The feature will also be able to help with grammar.
The new update will add the Journal app to help iPhone users manage stress. The feature will create custom prompts and allow you to schedule notifications to remind you to write.
