“Apple’s Approach to Cost Reduction: Why Mass Layoffs Are Not on the Table”

Under the influence of the economic recession, many technology companies have resorted to the seemingly simplest and most effective means of reducing costs – mass layoffs. This move has been implemented by a number of companies, just about anyone you can think of. Except for Apple. The head of the company, Tim Cook, has emphasized that mass layoffs are the last thing Apple will implement due to cost reduction.

So far, Apple has successfully avoided the need to reduce its workforce. The company has slowed down the pace of hiring, abandoned less profitable projects, and cut costs in other areas. In September of last year, Apple employed around 164,000 full-time employees, of whom only a few, mostly those working in retail, have been laid off due to cost-cutting.

So far, there is also no indication that the company should take such a hard decision and reduce the number of jobs. A few days ago, Apple released its financial results for the previous quarter, which were quite encouraging. The company reported $94.8 billion in revenue and a record for iPhone sales. This will also be well reflected in the increase in the value of Apple shares.
