Apple will release HomePod mini at the end of March in the Netherlands and Belgium for 109 euros – Image and sound – News

I like that. I have Hue lamps, Hue motion sensors, Xiaomi lamps/light strips, Xiaomi/Aqara temperature sensors/light sensors/motion sensors/open-window sensors/etc, Netatmo security cameras, Netatmo video doorbell, Eve sockets, Tado thermostat and radiators and probably a few more things that I forget now.

All Homekit suitable. Now I have to add that Homekit works flawlessly for me on the one hand, but at the same time it is not the Valhalla you might expect from it. The biggest advantage is no mandatory subscription costs (or you have to add iCloud+ 200GB/2TB for more HKSV cameras) and everything in one interface. The biggest drawback is the limited automation options, especially chaining of what-ifs or even simple notifications. However, there you have many 3rd party platforms such as homebridge for integrating with Homekit or building on top of Homekit to get that done. For example, think of notifications that Apple does not support in Homekit out-of-the-box or making a fake switch that can serve as a trigger in an automation. One-time setup and you will continue in Homekit.

I know of no other platform that integrates so well with everything in 2022. I have about 50 automations and except for 1 very specific one that also works with external integrations, they all work flawlessly. Thread could be a good replacement/competitor, but it is not there yet.
