There are two rumors that we can always put in our agenda every year. That first rumor raises a foldable iPhone and the second rumor on an iPhone without ports. Where we were treated to that first rumor last week, the second rumor emerges today.
Jon Prosser, the man with a highly variable reputation when it comes to Apple rumors, says that 2021 will finally be the year in which the iPhone without ports sees the light of day.
‘Apple will bring iPhone without ports in 2021’
On May 13, 2020, Jon Prosser discussed the iPhone without ports on Twitter. In a response to a tweet from 9TechEleven, Prosser announced that in 2021 one model will appear without any connection. We are now more than half a year on and Prosser still supports that statement. He announced this in the most recent episode of Front Page Tech: the news show of the best man. The episode can be watched below:
In the video Jon Prosser makes it extra clear that it is not a new rumor, but a somewhat older rumor. According to him, it is important to show that Apple has been working on the smartphone for a long time. There are still many question marks about the iPhone without ports, but according to Prosser, it is certain that it will get there. According to him, Apple plans to bring four models to the market again in 2021. Only one of these devices will be completely without ports. It is not yet known which model that will be exactly.
Leaks say that Apple plans to go port-less in the next years.
Meaning moving from lightning port to completely wireless charging.

MagSafe ipv USB-C
In recent years, the question was whether that iPhone without ports could really become a reality. Something we can see differently this year, thanks to the arrival of MagSafe. In my experience, the new technology has little to no major advantages. The iPhone 12 doesn’t charge as fast as it does when wired, and MagSafe’s wireless aspect is still debatable. It becomes clear quite quickly that this is a product for the future. A product that will go great with an iPhone without ports.
It may therefore be clear that the iPhone models currently tend more towards such a construction than that the Lightning Port is replaced by a USB-C connection. That chance seems to be getting smaller and smaller.
