We are not many weeks away from the presentation of the new iPhone 13. There are more and more rumors that, as in the past, give us a very faithful sample of what is to come. So, after several allegedly “valid” information, which pointed to all models in the iPhone 2021 equipped with LiDAR technology, after all it may not be anything like that.
According to the latest rumors, like the iPhone 12, Apple will only put LiDAR on the high end of its next smartphone.
LiDAR only on high-end iPhone 13
September is just around the corner and the iPhone 13 will be Apple's trump card for 2021. There are some expectations in what the Cupertino company will do more than it did with the iPhone 12, probably the brand's most successful iPhone and eventually the smartphone that will sell more units in the world.
So, after some "information leaks" that take some components for granted, it is now pointed out that the LiDAR technology will only appear on the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max models. Therefore, the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Mini (if this ever comes out), and contrary to what was said days ago, will not have LiDAR and it looks like we will have to wait until the iPhone 14 for all devices to receive the feature.
Who says so is the “leaker” Dylan on Twitter. This year only the Pro models equipped with Light Detection And Ranging.
LiDAR will only be coming to the pro iPhone models. Earlier this year it seemed Apple wanted to release all iPhone 13/12S models with LiDAR but due to one reason or another, it won’t be happening this year.

The iPhone 12 Pro's LiDAR sensor measures how long it takes for light to reflect off an object to create a depth map of the space it's in. It's so fast and accurate that augmented reality apps can turn a room into a rainforest or show you what those shoes you want to buy will look like.
This technology will be increasingly important, taking into account Apple's commitment to Augmented Reality.
