Apple will no longer provide headphones in the boxes of its iPhones in France from January 24. This is at least what Fnac indicates in its stores, specifying that the headphones are no longer delivered with Xiaomi smartphones since January 17.
This is the consequence of a law aimed at reducing the environmental footprint of digital technology in France. An article in the text removes the obligation for manufacturers to provide a hands-free kit (usually headphones) with new telephones. The law puts an end to the provision included in 2010 in the Post and Electronic Communications Code, which wanted “ limit exposure of the head to radio frequency emissions during communications “. But the health risk has never been demonstrated.
Apple will soon no longer be required to provide headphones with its iPhones in France
For the sake ofeconomy ecology, Apple has stopped slipping wired headphones with its smartphones since the iPhone 12. Except in France, therefore, where the manufacturer provides its smartphones packaged in a large box. This should therefore no longer be the case from January 24.
French consumers will therefore have to provide not only their headphones, but also their charger, an accessory also ousted from the iPhone box.
