Apple Will Announce iPhone 12 Release Date in Days

Apple already confirmed the launch iPhone 12 will be postponed, but the exact date is still unknown. Thanks to a leak from Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, Apple is likely to reveal more details in the near future.

In a tweet on his Twitter account, Gurman said people should not be overly excited by rumors that Apple will launch a new product this week. detikINET from Gizmochina, Monday (7/9/2020).

In fact, he said this announcement was likely related to the schedule for the launch event for the iPhone 12 and Apple Watch 6 which are likely to be held virtually.

Gurman’s tweet follows a tweet from gadget leaker Jon Prosser who said that Apple is preparing an official statement which will be released on September 8 at 9 p.m. Eastern American time. Previously, Prosser also said that Apple will launch a new iPad and Apple Watch this week.

But Gurman’s warning is at least in line with Apple’s previous move of giving about two weeks’ notice before major launch events. For example, for last year’s iPhone 11 event, Apple announced a launch date which fell on September 10 on August 29.

If it matches the previous year, then Apple could just hold a launch event iPhone 12 on September 22 if invitations go out on September 8.

While a line of new iPhones are likely to be showcased in the next few weeks, their availability in the market is likely to be a little late. It was previously reported that pre-orders will begin in mid-October and the cheapest model will begin shipping a week after that.

Not all models iPhone 12 will also be marketed simultaneously. As previously reported, the iPhone 12 will be available for purchase in October, while other models including the iPhone 12 Pro will go on sale in November.

In addition to the four iPhone 12 models, Apple is also rumored to be introducing a range of other devices including the Apple Watch Series 6, the new iPad, the new Apple TV, the smaller HomePod, the AirTag and over-ear headphones.
