Since its 2015 release, a new Apple Watch model has made its way into stores every year often with minimal upgrades, and that may change when the Apple Watch X rolls out as the company is said to be working on more substantial changes for the 10-year anniversary model, according to Mark Gurman of Apple Inc. Bloomberg.
Upgrades to the Apple Watch X could include a magnetic strap attachment, replacing the sliding design currently used and allowing room for a larger battery.
It may also feature a thinner watch case and a microLED display, providing a better picture than current OLED screens. On the health front, the Apple Watch X will reportedly include a blood pressure sensor along with the heart rate monitor, sleep tracking, and blood oxygen detection already present on current models. .
It’s unlikely that this updated Apple Watch will hit the market for another year, and if you follow the annual release schedule or two if Apple wants to wait a full decade after its first release. The Apple Watch Series 9 is on its way first (and is expected to be revealed at an event in September), with a faster processor for the first time since Series 6 and some new colors, expected to remain the same size as the Series 8 across its models, and overall will be a limited upgrade.
