IDXChannel – Apple Watch has saved many lives thanks to its health monitoring feature. But, of course it all depends on how the user uses the device.
Some use technology for good. While other users use Apple Watch to commit crimes like seven people thief which uses watch Apple’s smart to steal money worth 500,000 US dollars, or about Rp. 7.2 billion.
How do they do it? The group leader bought an Apple Watch and linked it to his AT&T account. The crew then hid the smartwatch under the bumper of a car belonging to a drug dealer who they suspected was carrying large amounts of cash.
They then tracked the location of the drug dealer using an Apple Watch to a hotel parking lot in Connecticut. They initially found nothing, but several thieves scouted the location overnight where upon seeing the driver return to the vehicle, they arrested him and forced him into the vehicle where a fight broke out.
They stole the man’s belongings including the hotel key card, and at the hotel they found a bag containing US$500,000 in cash. Unfortunately, it is not clear how they were eventually captured.
Quoted from Ubergizmo, however, this is not their first job. The crew is said to be behind a series of alleged robberies from 2019 to 2020.
