Apple Watch Ultra Sequel with 3D Printed Components

Jakarta (ANTARA) – A recent report from industry analyst and Apple insider Ming-Chi Kuo confirms previous rumors that the company will release a sequel to the Apple Watch Ultra later this year.
Reports from GSM Arena, Saturday (15/7), Kuo only stated that the new wearable device will come around the second half of this year. The launch of the Apple Watch Ultra is expected to take place in September, along with the iPhone, or perhaps at another event in October.

The latest news says that the Apple Watch Ultra will have 3D printed components. Apple is actively adopting 3D printing technology and will use the process for “some titanium mechanical parts” of its upcoming Watch Ultra watches.

According to estimates, the parts still have to go through some CNC processing. It is estimated that shifting part of component production to 3D printing can cut production time and costs, so Apple has adopted this method.

Kuo revealed that Farsoon and BLT are suppliers of 3D printers to Apple, while IPG Photonics is the exclusive supplier of the required laser components.
If introducing 3D printing into the production of the Apple Watch Ultra goes well, Apple is expected to adopt the technique for many more of its products.
