Last month, together with T-Mobile, we called on testers for the Apple Watch Series 7 Cellular. These are the experiences of Maureen, an athlete at heart.
Apple Watch Cellular when exercising
Maureen: Currently I’m using the Apple Watch Series 7 Cellular especially on long walks with the dog and for my running workouts. I then use the built-in Workout app, as well as Spotify and the Evy app. Indications while running (kilometers, time or navigation), streaming music and making calls can certainly be done perfectly in combination with AirPods via the Apple Watch.
To get a good idea of my performance, I look afterwards at the route, steps and distance of the workout, but also vital body functions such as my heart rate and cardio condition. If you use the Apple Watch for an extended period of time, you will also see trends in the Health app. This gives you more insight into the development of your workouts, heart rate, breathing and more in the long term. Stay alert, because it is also addictive!
Easily accessible
In my case, cellular on the Apple Watch is very useful when walking the dog. Normally you still walk with a phone while wearing your Watch just to be reachable, but with this version you can leave the phone at home with peace of mind. You will then remain reachable for work or other contacts. A telephone conversation (with not too much wind) is also fine without earplugs.
Staying reachable while running is of course nice, but it is even more important to me that I can contact someone when I am exercising in the event of material breakdown or injuries. The Watch even detects whether you have fallen and in those cases can automatically contact the emergency center and send a message to the contacts you specified.
Everything you need
As far as I’m concerned, the Apple Watch Series 7 Cellular offers almost all the functionality you need when exercising. It keeps track of your distance, calorie consumption, heart rate and steps during exercise, even in the gym. In addition, it detects whether you have fallen and in those cases can automatically contact the emergency center, even without your iPhone. And you can also use it for core training, yoga, swimming, strength training and dancing! If you are an avid athlete, I really recommend the Apple Watch.
