Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The trend of folding screen cellphones (foldable phones) seems to have started to make Apple wary. The reason is, many iPhone users have finally decided to switch to folding cellphones.
More specifically, the foldable cellphone brand they are after is the Motorola Razr. For information, Motorola is a cellphone manufacturer that started the folding cellphone trend for the first time through the ‘Razr’ series in the early 2000s.
It’s just that at that time, the Motorola Razr was present as a feature phone, not the smartphone we know today. Seeing the trend of increasingly sophisticated folding cellphones, Motorola has moved quickly to re-create the smartphone version of the Razr series.
Motorola boasts that 20% of Razr series buyers are former iPhone users. A rough idea for every 5 Motorola Razr buyers, 1 of them is a ‘betrayal’ iPhone user.
“Razr contributed the most to encouraging iPhone users to switch to our products,” he said, quoted from Cnet, Monday (5/6/2023).
Apple Will Follow the Folding HP Trend
Until now, many Android manufacturers have released folding screen cellphones. Starting from Samsung, Oppo, Huawei, to Motorola. Apple itself is still sticking with conventional screen smartphones.
However, according to a rumor, Apple is working on a folding cellphone that will be called the ‘iPhone Fold’. There has been no official confirmation from Apple yet. However, this cellphone is predicted to be present in 2025. We’ll wait!
