Apple Vision Pro Smart Glasses: Registration Conditions, Features, and Marketing Challenges

Apple has specified a set of conditions that must be met by the American user who wishes to submit a previous purchase order for its Vision Pro smart glasses when the registration for orders opens today, January 19.

The MacRoomers website stated that the conditions include the user having an iPhone or iPad equipped with a facial fingerprint feature, and being obligated to perform a digital scan of his face in the form of a 3D fingerprint through the official Apple application store.

The process of performing a facial fingerprint scan depends on the front camera of iPhones and iPads via the App Store application, and this requirement helps Apple determine the size of the user’s head and face in order to provide him with suitable sizes for the straps that hold the glasses on the head and the parts that hold them on the face.

Apple also required updating the App Store application to the latest version, which was launched on January 11, as it has the 3D facial fingerprint scanning feature.

In addition, Apple asked its customers who wish to purchase its Vision Pro glasses to undergo a recent eye test if they wish to equip their glasses with lenses to correct vision defects. It explained in an email sent to its customers in the United States that it would not be able to provide vision correction lenses for all sizes.

Apple faces one of the most difficult marketing challenges in its history, which is convincing customers to buy its smart glasses at a price of $3,499 with limited battery life, a bulky design, and no applications that work with them yet.
