Apple continues to adapt its offer for the arrival of the Vision Pro. These mixed reality glasses will revolutionize the world of computing and entertainment, according to the Cupertino company. During the presentation, the way users could capture three-dimensional video was up in the air. Was it already implied? Well, now we know that the iPhone 15 Pro will record 3D video.
Apple’s biggest new product, the Apple Vision Pro, won’t arrive until early 2024. But the Vision Pro was still part of the new features presented at Apple’s latest event. O headset Apple’s next-generation AR/VR (mixed reality glasses) boasts cutting-edge features and promises to be an all-in-one “spatial computer” to redefine the recently relaunched mixed reality hardware landscape.
One of its biggest – and strangest – features is the ability to record and play back 3D spatial video clips that can later be viewed as snippets of immersive memories. The idea would have remained in the air as to how Apple would be thinking about capturing these videos. After all, everything was prepared to transfer this action to the new iPhone Pro.
iPhone 15 Pro will be able to record spatial videos for Vision Pro
During the Wonderlust Keynote on Tuesday (September 12), the company showcased an interesting feature for the recently announced iPhone 15 Pro smartphone lineup. Thanks to the redesigned camera system and the addition of the powerful A17 Pro CPU, these phones can record 3D space videos and photographs. This content will then be viewed using the future headset Apple Vision Pro mixed reality.
When Apple unveiled the Vision Pro, it spent some time on the notion of spatial videos and photography. Basically, these are completely three-dimensional experiences that can be relived with the glasses. For example, if you make a space video of your daughter’s birthday party, you can use Vision Pro and relive the day, as the operating system makes you feel like you’re back in the moment.
However, the company had not detailed an easy way for consumers to make these videos until now.
You point and shoot a video and let the robust iPhone 15 Pro do the rest, eventually sending the images to a Vision Pro when it launches. Furthermore, it will be possible to use your own headphones to capture these moments, but this will be at the expense of actually living the moment.
During the Wonderlust event, Apple CEO Tim Cook confirmed once again that the Vision Pro is ready to launch in the first few months of 2024, so start saving up for the device that costs at least 3500 euros, if not even more !
The iPhone 15 Pro, in turn, starts at 1249 euros for the basic model. We will be reviewing the iPhone 15 Pro soon, and this new feature will be interesting to see how it is recorded and saved.
