Jakarta –
Headset Apple Vision Pro The long-awaited debut goes on sale in the United States. This device is sold at a price that is not cheap, starting from USD 3,500 or around IDR 55 million.
According to Apple CEO Tim Cook The price of the Vision Pro headset is in accordance with the technology and features offered. He emphasized that Vision Pro is future technology that is available today.
“This is the technology of the future for now, that’s what I think. We already have it. The device is fulfilled, we have 5,000 patents on the product,” said Cook in an interview on the Good Morning America program, as quoted by 9to5Mac, Sunday (4 /2/2024).
“And I expect some people will pay it per month, some people will buy it outright. I’ve talked to a lot of people online, they will buy it outright. But going forward, who knows what will happen. But we think we price for value right now,” he continued.
The price of the Vision Pro headset is many times higher than similar devices, even though it is a product Apple This does have more sophisticated technology. For comparison, the Meta Quest 3 headset, which is its biggest competitor, is priced at USD 499 or around IDR 7.8 million.
One of the superior features of Vision Pro is that the front is made transparent, so that other people can see the user’s eyes. According to Cook, this is a very good feature because Vision Pro users can still connect with people around them.
“So, you and I can sit here having a conversation while wearing headsets and we can look each other in the eye. But we can also see the screens around us,” said Cook.
“So this can strengthen our relationship. We want people to be able to look into each other’s eyes, not be covered by headsets,” he added.
Furthermore, Cook said Vision Pro not just an augmented reality, virtual reality, or mixed reality headset. He emphasized that Vision Pro is a spatial computing device that can be used like a computer.
“People will interact with the device in different ways. Some people will connect for FaceTime. Some people will use it for practice. Surgeons will use it for practice,” Cook said.
“The number of use cases is like a computer. It is extraordinary. There are already more than one million applications for that device,” he concluded.
