Apple user must pay more for blue tick on Twitter | Technician

Messaging service Twitter will roll out an updated version of Twitter Blue, the paid “blue checkmark,” on Monday. Apple users will have to pay more for it, the company announced.

Users can subscribe to the renewed service. With it, they can edit tweets, upload high-resolution videos, and get a blue tick. The web version costs $8 (7.59 euros) a month, but via the Apple OS this is $11.

Twitter doesn’t explain why Apple users should pay more. According to media reports, the company is looking for a way to offset the costs that Apple charges in the App Store.

Twitter owner Elon Musk has previously indicated that the platform is almost ready to allow users to use more than 280 characters in a message. He previously reported that Twitter was working on a way to allow longer tweets.
