Apple Urges iPhone Users to Download New Security Update Immediately

Written by Muhammad Mahmoud

Apple has announced a new security update, and is urging iPhone users to download it immediately.

The iOS 17.1.1 update also addresses a serious bug that caused iPhone 15 models to crash after trying to use wireless charging in some cars.

Drivers of cars made by BMW or Toyota found they were unable to use Apple Pay or other NFC features after using in-car charging. Also fixed a strange bug that meant the weather widget wouldn’t display the snow icon.

While Apple did not name the type of car associated with this bug, users have reported it occurring frequently in some BMW and Toyota Supra cars.

Apple also notes that the update fixes another bug, saying: “Weather lock screen widget may not display snow correctly.”

Users have noticed that the weather widget displays a file icon instead of a snow icon as well as a dashed line appearing through the weather notification. To download the update, simply open the Settings app on your iPhone, select General, then choose Software Update.
