Apple updates Magsafe battery – charges faster

Do you have one of Apple’s new small powerbanks that attaches magnetically to the Magsafe mount on Iphone 12 and later? Then you can look forward to an update that allows the Magsafe Battery Pack, as it is called, to charge the phone faster than before.

Apple has released version 2.7 of the basic software in the battery, which allows it to charge an Iphone with 7.5 instead of 5 watts of power.

To get the update down, you can either use the powerbank as usual, as it can take up to a week to install it, or connect to an Ipad or Mac with lightning to the usb-c cable and then it should take five minutes.

Magsafe Battery Pack already works as a regular Magsafe charger and can charge 15 watts if it is connected to a charger that can supply it with 20 watts.
