The M4 chip debuted this spring with the latest generation of iPad Pros. Now the processor family from Apple has grown with the more powerful M4 Pro and M4 Max models. The two new things live in the latest computers with the apple bitten logo.

“Apple chips have shaped the Mac like never before, and with the new M4 Pro and M4 Max we’re keeping the pace of innovation sharp,” said Johny Srouji, Apple’s senior vice president. for hardware technology, he did not hide his passion for the news.

According to him, these are “the fastest CPU cores in the world”, which include “a much more powerful GPU and the fastest Neural Engine ever”. “The chips of the M4 family, with their performance, economy and options, increase their lead as the most advanced series of chips on the market,” said Srouji.

Although we have to wait some time for real practical tests that confirm his words, the limits of the news are very interesting. All chips are based on second generation 3-nanometer technology, which increases their performance and economy.

The three new processors can be found in the improved MacBook Pro, which represents the best portable computer in the Apple range. Its current generation is available in two different sizes, with a 14-inch and 16-inch Liquid Retina XDR display.

The price of the 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M4 chip starts at CZK 49,990. Potential buyers will pay at least CZK 74,990 for a 16-inch MacBook Pro, which, however, is equipped with a more powerful M4 Pro chip. This is the basic setup price. All models are sold in black and space silver.

The number of new computers is completed with the latest generation of the Mac mini. Compared to last year’s model, it has gone through a major diet, it is obviously more compact. Last year’s Mac mini had a footprint of 19.7 x 19.7 cm, but this year’s generation managed to squeeze all the components into a body measuring just 12.7 x 12.7 cm.

In one breath, it is appropriate to add that the set has grown a little in height – from 3.58 cm last year to 5 cm, but even so the more compact dimensions of the new product are evident. It is also evident when looking at the weight. Although the previous weight was 1.28 kg, in the case of this year’s model it is only 0.67 kg (for the basic version).

Despite this, Apple promises a significant increase in performance due to the integration of M4 and M4 Pro chips. “Mac mini with M4 has up to 1.8 times faster CPU and up to 2.2 times faster GPU than the model with M1 chip. M4 Pro is based on the advanced technologies of the M4 chip and scales them for even more demanding functions and tasks,” representatives of the American technology giant gave the news.

The Mac mini will be offered in several configurations, with the base model starting at CZK 17,490. For that price, people get an M4 chip, 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
