Apple unveils new MacBook Air with 15-inch display and M2 chip for unparalleled performance

Air is a key product for Apple. This is because it is the best-selling portable computer from the entire range of this company, which can be attributed primarily to its price tag. If we leave out the run-of-the-mill models, it is always the cheapest laptop with the bitten apple logo.

Until now, however, Apple has only offered the MacBook Air in one size, namely the 13-inch screen. The offer of two different sizes was a privilege up to the higher Pro series. But this is changing with the newly revealed novelty, which offers a 15-inch display, as the name itself suggests.

Newly, prospective buyers can choose from two sizes also in the case of the Air series – between a 13-inch and a 15-inch screen. Even the bigger brother, which premiered on Monday, impresses with its extremely thin construction. Its thickness is only 11.5 mm, which according to the manufacturer makes it the thinnest 15-inch laptop in the world.

At the heart of this new product is the M2 chip, just like the MacBook Air 13. There will be a version with an 8-core processor and 10-core graphics card, so this is the same chip as the MacBook Pro. The manufacturer promises up to 12 times higher performance than the last generation MacBook Air, which was equipped with an Intel chip.

Apple claims the M2 chip makes it the most powerful personal laptop on the market. Potential applicants can count on 24 GB of operating memory and up to 2 TB of storage.

One of the other attractions of this model is the MagSafe power connector, which easily attaches using magnets and quickly releases if you accidentally trip over it. In addition, the machine can also be charged with a USB-C charger, which is especially useful when traveling, when you don’t have to carry two different chargers for MacBook and iPad with you.

Apple representatives promise up to 18 hours of battery life. Of course, there is a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, and the six built-in speakers with surround sound deserve to be highlighted.
