Augmented Reality (AR) is high on Apple’s agenda. It now also wants to apply it in its streaming service Apple TV +.
AR has been around for a long time, of course. However, it is now increasingly applied in various apps and gadgets. For example, Microsoft has been developing the HoloLens for a long time and Apple regularly shows in its iPhone presentations what is possible with AR. Apple TV + and AR
Still, Apple wants to do a lot more with it. The company sees one of the applications for AR at Apple TV +. It can be an ideal addition to Apple’s streaming service. It can become a companion, just as you already have a companion app with games, for example. With Apple TV +, the AR must display objects from the show itself in the living room. This must be done through an app on an iPhone or iPad.
Apple wanted to introduce the feature this year, but the corona virus caused a spanner in the works. The plans have therefore been postponed. The company sees three major advantages of using AI. It ensures that the option keeps existing customers on board and that it also attracts new customers. In addition, it is also a promotion for the AR technology that Apple uses.
According to Bloomberg we should see the AR with Apple TV + primarily as bonus content. It gives the series as an example For All Mankind. For example, you can see a moon rover on top of your table during that production.
