Apple TV +: production of film Emancipation (with Will Smith) put on hold due to Covid

Apple recently reclaimed the exclusive broadcast rights to the film Emancipation starring actor Will Smith. And as often for 1 year and a half (already), the Covid pandemic has turned the schedule upside down. If several sources are to be believed, the production of the film would have been temporarily halted because of a small number of Covid cases which would have occurred among the members of the technical team. The film crew was gathered in Louisiana to prepare for filming when the ax fell. The suspension of production should however last only 5 days (counting this Monday, August 2).

As a reminder, the film Emancipation is inspired by the true story of a runaway slave (Peter / Will Smith) who came to the north to be enlisted in the Union Army within a regiment made up entirely of Afro – Americans. This film will be directed by Antoine Furqa and written by Bill Collage.
