The series premiere Surface was held on the evening of July 25 at the Morgan Library in New York. Once is not custom, Apple had organized a presentation evening in a cozy atmosphere, probably like its thriller series which seems to appeal more to reflection than to pure action. The Surface series tells the singular story of Sophie (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), a young woman who tries to recompose the thread of her so-called suicide after the accident caused her to lose part of her memory.
From left to right: Markian Tarasiuk, Andreas Joseph, Ashley Strumwasser (VP, Hello Sunshine), Veronica West, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Reese Witherspoon, Sam Miller, Lauren Neustadter, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Christin Park, Ari Graynor, Francois Arnaud and Millie Brad for the preview of the Surface series projected at the Morgan Library & Museum.
Note that Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Reese Witherspoon are the executive producers of the series (in other words, they had a say in the content apart from financing); The Surface series will premiere next Friday (July 29) on Apple TV+.
